Amanda said she would call me back but as of yet I havent heard from her which makes me feel that my complaint was not as important as she said it was.
Again, this happened to my sister-in-law but we all took it very personal. Whatever is in my bag is my personal property and I find it highly invasive to be asked by the ticket checker to open my bag. If I choose a better alternative to what is offered at the theater that is completely my decision. As an adult, and paying customer, I refuse to be told what I can and cannot have in my purse to eat during a movie.
Also, regarding the trash left behind, that will happen whether its a McDonalds bag or a tub of es with the territory. I told her that of course we want to be safe when we go to the theater but again, why werent all bags checked? This made us feel as if there was a problem with discrimination. I had a hard time understanding her logic because if security is such an issue, shouldnt there be security guards checking everyones bags. She explained to me that the theater wanted to check for weapons and also make sure no food was brought into the theater because of all the trash it created by customers who left their McDonalds bags behind after the movie. The name of the person I spoke to was Amanda. Second of all, what right does anyone have to tell a paying customer to open their bag and then to take their property inside of their bag to the car? I felt that this was highly inappropriate and decided to call and speak to a manger. First of all, I had a big purse as well but was not asked to open my bag. She asked her to move things around and then told her she had to take the food in her purse to the car. The lady who took our tickets asked my sister-in-law to open her purse. I never heard back from the following complaint.My family and I went to Maya cinema in Pittsburg, Ca on May 31st and we had a very bad experience.
